Modular backpacks

That adapt to your lifestyle.

There's a better solution to over-packing your day bag or carrying multiple bags for your daily needs.

Bags are made for singular activities but the lifestyles of people include multiple activities in a single day.  Our solution is to create a modular backpack with removable compartments that can easily attach and detach to the main pack.  By combining the functionalities found in rugged outdoor packs with the aesthetic of urban minimalist bags, we have created a modular backpack that introduces functionality into urban bags.

It all started with a pain point.

During his freshman year in New York City, founder Enzo was balancing school, an internship, and training for a marathon.  Many days, Enzo was struggling to carry two or three bags hanging from his body throughout the day while commuting around the city.  During the rush hour commutes, Enzo also noticed many people struggling to carry multiple bags on their way to work or school.  This made him realize that there might be an opportunity to improve the way people use their backpacks to carry their daily needs.

Enzo was part of a program during his freshman year called Social Impact 360, which gave him the opportunity to pitch the idea to win a grant from Kenneth Cole Productions at the end of the school year.  The modular backpack idea Enzo pitched was selected as one of the national winners.  The grant from Social Impact 360 and Kenneth Cole kickstarted Ventir.

Through a mutual friend, Alex heard about the idea and joined Enzo as the design arm of the pair.  After months of ideation, industry research, initial design sketches led by Alex, and rough prototypes from contracted sample makers, Alex and Enzo knew they had to reach out to a professional design firm to help conceptualize and bring their ideas to life.

After seeing Ventir's initial progress and industry research, Whipsaw, Inc joined the team as the industrial design partners of the company.  Whipsaw is a highly acclaimed industrial design firm whose clients include Cisco, Dell, GE, Google, Nike, and many other industry leading companies.  Whipsaw has led the development of over 80 product concepts, 10 models, and 5 prototypes.

Ventir is currently working with a premiere soft goods manufacturer based in Indonesia to crate factory samples of its first line of modular backpacks.
